Another great job from the team at Magneto Electric to get this 2600kw generator back up and running for one of our food and beverage customers. Our truck arrived on Saturday evening to pick this unit up from our customers so our team could get to work on it right away. The generator came in with a seized drive end bearing and some very extensive bearing journal damage because of the failure. We did a complete dismantling and overhaul of the unit. All the components went through extensive electrical testing and the parts were prepped for re-assembly. Our welding team did an excellent job of repairing the bearing journal and our machinists brought the journal back to nominal size as well as re-sleeved the drive end housing.
We then got to work on balancing the rotor and re-assembling the generator to get it back to our customer as quickly as possible.
